WAIT! Before you book your wax treatment there are a few things to keep in mind.
LENGTH OF HAIR - 3-6 weeks of growth (about the length of a grain of rice) is the sweet spot.
Any shorter and the wax may not "catch" the hairs, any longer and the wax will pull and snap the hairs instead of removing the bulb from the root. This makes the waxing process more uncomfortable and often times more painful for you.
What to expect?
plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes early to "dress out" and fill out any paper work.
You will be asked to a series of questions by your skin therapist to make sure you are not contraindicated for treatment.
Pre-Treatment
Shower/Bath, exfoliate the area to be waxed a few hours before your scheduled appointment. **Trimming if necessary**
Take 1 Tylenol (with clearance from your physician) an hour before your appointment
For eyebrows and facial waxing PLEASE have all makeup and jewelry removed prior to treatment.
Post-Wax Care
It is recommended to wax every 4-6 weeks to maintain a smooth appearance
Keep the Waxed Area Clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours. This Means:
-
No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only)
-
No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
-
No Tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans)
-
No sport gym work or exercises.
-
Wear clean loose fitting clothing
-
Avoid swimming in chlorinated water.
-
Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area.
-
To sooth and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream tot he waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment.
To prevent ingrown hairs:
-
Starting a few days after your appointment:
-
Gently Scrub the skin 3 times a week
-
Moisturize the area every day.
-
Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These should subside over he next 24-48 hours.
RESIST THE URGE TO PICK / RUB on the waxed area, This will only trigger inflammation /In grown hairs.
DO NOT Shave in between waxes!

WAX MATTERS
I use premium hard wax only. Hard wax is safer for the skin and does NOT require waxing strips. (Less waste!) and in most cases allows for a little to no pain.
